First Baby Sign

We've been doing baby signs with Joel since he was real little. We mostly do, milk, more, all done, hungry, thirsty, thank you and tired. We do more in playgroup each week too; Mommy, Daddy, play, etc...
This morning he was taking a break from drinking his bottle and I asked him if he wanted more. I signed more, then he signed more. I was so proud of him!
I would've thought milk would be his first sign. Whenever we sign milk he gets all excited cause he knows what's coming :o)

Joel's 9 month well check

He went to see the NP (Karen) this afternoon. He's doing wonderfully!
He impressed her with his skills, clapping, waving, high 5's, clicking his tongue, babbling; Hi, Mama, Dada, Niny (? for Cindy), etc...

His stats:

Weight: 20.8 (53%)

Length: 28.5 (63%)

HC: 17.5 (28%)

I can't believe he'll be 9 months old Sunday...time sure flies!
He is starting to push his walker toy around the living room, yikes!

Moving towards finalization

We got an email last week from our SW letting us know that she had received all the legal paperwok she needed to work on her part of the finalization and get it to the attorney. She'd update us again once that is completed. I guess that means once the attorney receives it, he/she gets a court date. We can't wait! J left us a message yesterday to say hi and see how we all were. She wanted to know if we went to court yet to make it final, then she said give Joel a kiss for me!

Getting so big

Joel lets us know he is awake by banging on his wall behind his crib.

He really enjoys standing in his crib...monkey! We go in and lie him down when it's time for him to sleep and our happy, silly boy smiles and laughs at us, LOL!

Well, tonight I removed his crib mobile. It is so sad that he is already past that stage...though he is so much fun right now. He is just getting so big so fast!! I know it's time to remove his bumper pads as well, but believe it or not I'm having a hard time doing it.

He has his 9 month well check next Thursday and we can't wait to see just how much he's grown.
Right now he wears size 12 month clothing, size 3 diapers and size 4 night time diapers, he's eating mostly table foods, drinking water out of his sippy, though he still loves his "milk" (formula) bottles cuddled up with Mama. He's been saying Dada a lot lately and a few hi's, he's waving, clapping, pulling to stand and crawling like a little speed racer as we like to call him.

I just can not believe he is going to be 9 months old soon...he's getting so big!

Vacation :O)

We were on vaca last week. We went to Acadia/ Bar Harbor (Maine) it was such a glorious week. The weather was warm and sunny. The ocean/views were magnificent, we went hiking on trails and up a few mountains. The highest we went up was Beech Mountain. It overlooked the little beach (Echo Lake) that Joel, Mommy and Daddy splashed around in. We saw so much and we were always on the go. Joel did awesome, he is such a good boy! The three of us shared hotel rooms with C & F (helped defray the costs) and Joel slept really well. Joel loved seeing the ocean, lakes and ponds and enjoyed the hikes in his back pack carrier...that thing is great!
I'll post some pics as soon as I upload them to the computer.

Our new pool

We got this pool (3 years old, set up, but never used) & deck free off Craigslist. We worked on taking the deck apart last night and will do more tonight (located about 45 mins from us). We will dissemble the pool Sat. am.
It is 18x33 oval and the deck is like 18x16 or so.

It's huge!!

Hi, Bye...little man enjoys waving now

and we are pretty sure we heard a "Hi" the other day too :o)
