Joel is 4 months old

oh my! Our little baby boy is 4 months old today.
He was Baptized on Sunday April 19th in the same Christening gown that my sister and I wore and in the same church...it was lovely!

Joel has come so far. He is eating solids like a champ. He's been on them for a few weeks now. So far, rice cereal, oatmeal, barley (tried it once, seemed to really make his spit up) sweet potatoes, applesauce, bananas, peas, green beans, peaches, prunes (once to help his stool) just tried pears this weekend (on his first camping trip to the beach which he did AWESOME at) and squash tonight. He still needs to try carrots. I make most of his foods and freeze them.

He is doing really well on his tummy, really holding his head/chest up now.,,he still doesn't really like it, but tolerates it more. He doesn't seem to have any interest in rolling over, but wants to sit up and can sit up by himself impressively well (he will topple to the side or throw himself back, but wants to be sitting (if not standing, his favorite position) if he is lying on your lap of leaning back in his high chair he tries so hard to get himself pulled up to sitting, lol! He is so cute with all his sounds he is making too, lots of babbling!

I just love our little guy so much!!

We are still waiting on the Bfather's TPR, arrhh! I can't believe there is only a few more days left of April and things are still on the balance. When we think about it it makes us so nervous and we are just so anxious to get word. We pray to GOD that things are said and done any day now.

Happy 4 month birthday our little man! We love you so much!!

He has his 4 month well check with Karen (NP) on Wednesday evening. We weighed and measured him at home recently and got 16 for HC, 14.8 for weight and 24 (last time we checked) for height. So we'll see how that compares.

I'll post his ht, wt, hc and percentiles after his appt.

A few more thing, we've given him a sippy to experiment with, water and a tad of Motts for Tots juice which is already watered down juice and the other day he learned how to drink from it perfectly without spilling (Avent magic cup) he can even hold onto the handles and do it himself getting 1-2 oz at a time.
He officially moved into the size 2 diapers this weekend, the ones were like little bikinis on him and he peed out the side of one onto my shirt yesterday, lol!
He really enjoys his exersaucer and walker, is holding onto toys and putting them into his mouth, sucking his thumb, loves his soft animal blankies and his baths.

Bye!

4-9-09 ~ Joel update

It's been a little while. Joel man is 3 months old. He'll be celebrating his 1st Easter this Sunday and getting Christened next Sunday.

He started on some cereal and applesauce (homemade) and bananas...he's doing great! I was planning on waiting till he was 4 months old, but instead we started a few weeks earlier. He was so hungry. He upped some of his bottles to 8 oz and shortened the length of time between some feedings. He has all the readiness signs and does great with the spoon. He grabs my hand with both his hands and pulls the spoon to his mouth, lol!

He has started to do the fake cough sound this week...so cute and talks in the car, aghh, aghh, aghh over and over...silly boy!

We measured him here at home and got 24 inches long, 13.2 pounds and 15.75 for HC. He fits the length of his 3-6 months cloths perfectly (an occasional pair needs folding up) and 1 fold on the arms of his shirts.

We also give him a sippy cup of water to experiment with when he's in his highchair. Avent magic cup~ He's actually drank water out of it a few times...YAAA!

He is sleeping anywhere from 8 to 10 hours at night, loves his baths and smiling and giggling. We took out the exersaucer this past weekend and he enjoys that.

We are still waiting for TPR of the Bfather, we were told it would occur in March, but March came and went to now the agency says it will be mid to late April. Come on!!! We keep praying and just want it over with. Please God!

Guess that's it for now. Take care!
