Okay, so for the past 2 nights Joel has slept through the night (9pm-5am). We are so excited and hoping this is not just a reaction from the shots he got on Tuesday evening, lol!
Josh gets up at 5 am and feeds him, then Joel hangs out with us (looking at himself in the mirror on his toy or clutching a hand toy and banging himself in the head with it) reclined in his highchair while we make and eat breakfast. Then the past 2 mornings I put him back down in his crib at 7 am and he falls back to sleep. This morning he slept till almost 10 am when I went in to find him quietly lying there awake and looking at his mobile. Seriously, we are really hoping that he continues this...that would be awesome!
Usually he'd have his bath at 7 pm, then bottle, then bed and would wake once around 1 or 2 am. So, not bad getting up the once, but boy does it feel different and nice to sleep straight through the night again, lol!
I just had to share his new accomplishment :o)

8 weeks old
Joel will be 2 months old tomorrow...wow!
He is doing great! Just over the past week he has changed so much. He is really looking around now, really enjoying his floor gyms and crib aquarium, trying to suck his thumbs, watching his hands, starting to try and reach for things, bearing weight on his legs and pushing up and down, smiling a lot more, cooing a lot, liking his baths (especially the ones with his Daddy). He is becoming such a little person and we love him to pieces :o)
He has his 2 month well baby check up next week so we'll see how much he's grown.
We tried him on Similac Sensitive formula and it made him spit up often (like 4 times after a feeding and he never usually spits up) plus the first ingredient in it is corn syrup and I just don't feel right about feeding him that if he can tolerate the regular Similac well so if the rep at work can't get it for us, we'll buy it for him if that is what works for him.
He has worn a few of his 3-6 month (fleecy) outfits (before the warmer weather comes along)and they fit him well in length, but the arms are a bit long. He is getting such cute chubby thighs, belly and cheeks :o)
Guess that's it for now.

Sitting in my Bumbo (2-13-09)
Some of my favorite things now are sitting in my new Bumbo, playing the copy cat tongue game with Mommy and Daddy, laying under my floor gym, watching my crib aquarium at night and looking at my crib mobile, kicking my legs, sucking my hands and fingers and smiling and cooing.

Joel update 2-17-09
He met his Great Aunt Anne this past Saturday (Valentines Day) we all went up to Maine in the van. She just loved Joel :o)
Joel now sleeps in his crib at night. We put him in it overnight for the 1st time on 2-10 and I put his bassinet in the attic last Friday (2-13-09). He has been doing 4 to 4.5 hr stretches at night between feeds...although last night he ate at 7/7:30 and awoke to eat at 1:30...holy 6 plus hour stretch batman, lol!
He was in an awesome mood today. He has been increasingly fussy since he turned one month old and fusses whenever we take him to Mom and Dads, Aunt Annes, friends houses etc...
When I took him to his 1 mos appt. they didn't have any of the Similac Advance so the NP gave us Similac Early Shield, Good Start and Enfamil...we thought he was good on all milk based formulas. Not sure if it was the switch in formula or not, but he got gassy, fussy, etc... He surely didn't do well on the Early Shield at all. He's been back on the regular Similac since Sunday evening and seems a bit better. We also started giving him some Gripe water.
He is down to 1 to 2 dirty diapers/day. I am going to try putting him in cloth diapers tomorrow.
We (Joel and I) started going to walk the mall last week, one morning per week.
Will update more later, Joel B is crying.

Joel as of 2-9-09
He sleeps for 4 hr stretches at night (usually wakes some where between 11pm - 2 amthe 1st time and 4 - 6am the 2nd time). Drinks 5 oz bottles. Eats every 2.3 to 3 hrs during the day. Lots of wet diapers. 2-3 dirty diapers a day. Loves to listen to us all talk to him. Very smiley, listens to Mommy read his books, starting to like his baths a bit more. Really likes his swing or anything that moves.
