From the carnival we went to a few months back

I see a tooth...

Last night Grammy felt a tooth and you can see it. Joel's getting his 1st tooth (his bottom right). You honestly wouldn't know it's coming in. He isn't acting any different, not yet anyway, LOL! I am giving him some Tylenol and teething tabs to help with any discomfort.
So, goodbye gummy smile, hello toofers!!

First playgroup

Today was our 1st playgroup. It is a mix of children who get EI services and community children. Joel had a great time (although it was during his morning nap time so he was a bit tired, he's teething and he was miffed at the fact that he was playing in the little gym on his hands and knees rocking back and forth, pushed forward and face planted into the rug in the beg. of group). I ended up giving him his blankie to hold onto and he was comforted by that. There were 4 other little ones there all around 9-12 months. So he was the youngest. They did gym time, exploring the toys, scarf play, circle time with welcome song, then maracas, duckies, parachute and singing and signing. They had snack, rice table play (he sat in it and loved it, LOL!) She did hand and foot prints with them, blew bubbles and sang good bye song. It was so much fun!
I'm looking forward to bringing him again next week. He'll really enjoy it when he can get around and explore all the equipment and toys more.

So frustrating, another set back

But not one to really worry about. Our SW called this afternoon to let us know that she received word that the Legal BFather's (J's now ex-husband) rights weren't terminated at the 7-15 hearing only the presumed BFather's rights GRRRR! This is getting so frustrating!
So the court date for his TPR is set for the am of 8-19. So we are set back yet another month. We should have had all the TPR done by the time he was 3 or 4 months old and have all our paperwork into finalize here by the time he was 6 months old. With this last court date it set us back to possibly finalizing in the Fall, but now we're looking to hopefully have things finalized by December, maybe around Christmas and his Birthday...a whole year since things all began.

As far as his legal BFather, he keeps rejecting the letters to appear in court, he wants nothing to do with Joel as he is no way his son. Yet the silly court who I guess likes wasting everyones time and money wants to try and reach him yet again. Whatever!!!!!!

So we are now back to him not be officially ours...again! We are not so much worried about anything changing this time, it's just an unsettling feeling to have to wait for word again.

Our SW said boy have we had everything that could go wrong go wrong. This has not been a smooth adoption process and it's been really trying on us.

So that's all I know for now till 8-19.

Trip to VT

Joel enjoyed his first trip to VT to visit his Nana and Pappy. He also got to play with 2 of his 4 cousins (all boys) too. He really enjoys them! We went to Josh's mother's sides annual family reunion and Joel got in the water and splashed around.

On hands and knees

Little Monkey has been getting up on his hands and knees more often lately and rocking back and forth. He also does this push up thing on his hands and toes with his whole body up off the floor. He ends up pushing himself backwards across the floor. He wants to be on the move real bad you can tell.
